Worship Leader Magazine Features Sean Rodriguez Devotional

Updated: Aug 12

Releasing today, pastor-turned-artist Sean Rodriguez is featured by Worship Leader Magazine on their podcast "The Walk," discussing his take on leadership in the church.

Appearing on Episode 79 of "The Walk," Sean reminds us that worship leadership is a divine calling, not just a paycheck. Touching upon the dynamics of the worship setting—challenging leaders to create spaces that encourage active participation vs. passive observation—and encouraging leaders to approach roles and opportunities with reverence, humility, and a steadfast commitment to cultivating environments where God’s presence can flourish in people’s hearts.

A respected publication for decades, Worship Leader is just one part of founders Dr. Chuck Fromm and Stephanie Fromm's vision for helping to inspire creative leaders, as their Song Discovery and National Worship Leader Conferences have combined to equip "pastors, musicians, scholars, educators, centers of learning, artists, technologists, sound engineers, arrangers, composers, poets, painters, theologians, producers and publishers," according to their website.

Rodriguez's collaboration with Worship Leader comes with high praise, “With an evangelical heritage that shapes his music, Rodriguez is dedicated to celebrating God’s transformative power and majesty, making him a fitting guest for a discussion on the essentials of worship leadership,” says the outlet.

Among Sean’s contributions to the discussion mentioned above, he also includes the concept of self-examination for both worship leaders and team members alike—urging deep reflection on their motivations for leading worship and the need for an authentic heart-alignment with God’s purposes. At a time where mass media frequently blurs lines between reality and authenticity, Sean’s philosophy on worship leadership is a welcomed and timely reminder.

At the time of the Worship Leader podcast's publication, Sean was riding synth waves with remix master GREGATRON and the release of "Center Stage" (GREGATRON Remix). Combining the upbeat pre-Winter Jam 2023 release ("Center Stage" [Feb. 10, 2023]) with the fresh vibrancy of remixed beats, the track is the culmination of the many years of friendship between GREGATRON and Rodriguez.
